Our terminals automatically calculate the surcharge (so there’s no manual processing required) and you’ll get paid the next business day. The SmartCharge solution calculates an appropriate surcharge for each transaction, and you can have peace of mind knowing these amounts are ACCC compliant.

SmartCharge is an ideal solution for merchants who process over $10,000 of credit card transactions per month/per terminal and want to keep more of their earnings. Otherwise, you only incur costs if you choose to pay the surcharge yourself, or you don’t meet the minimum monthly credit spend*.

Surcharges are now common in many industries such as bars, cafes, restaurants, automotive services and professional services, however merchants need to make sure the amount charged complies with ACCC rules for processing payments.

No Merchant Service Fees

A simple low surcharge is added to your customer’s purchase to cover all the costs of accepting cards. You’ll only ever pay Merchant Service Fees if you choose to pay the surcharge on a customer’s behalf.

Rates range between:

  • Credit Card: 1.65-1.98%
  • Debit Cards: $0.30-0.50
  • AMEX: 2.99%

Your merchant specific rate is determined by our elite team after viewing three months of merchant statements.

*A minimum $10,000 credit card transaction per terminal applies, otherwise it’s a $32.95 (including GST) charge for terminal rental.  You can’t aggregate the value of the terminal if you have more than one.
